Drop in and Support My Mother

I know many of you that follow my blog also follow my mothers for her children's clothing and home design, but for those of you that don't I wanted to share with you the news of her upcoming trunk show. I am so proud of my mother for working so hard to get her children's clothing line out to the public. It has been a long process with many set backs as is often the case with any business. Please drop by and support her on May 16th as she comes out of her shyness shell and has her first ever trunk show.

Thanks in advance for your support!!!
See below!

You asked for it and we have listened!
I am very excited about my upcoming trunk show. With custom sewing it is not often that I am able to present a selection of samples to be viewed before the product is ordered, however this past year my daughter and myself have had many requests to host a trunk show to give the opportunity to view some of the custom items I have made in the past. In addition to these items, I have also selected some of my favorite items and made them to have on display just for this trunk show. Please drop by and join us on May 16th to view these adorable items. We will have many things on display from this blog as well as many new things that we will not be posting until after the premier of our trunk show. Don't miss out on our special pricing exclusive for those attending the trunk show.

I Often Wonder

I have often wondered (as I most of the time do about things I will never know the answer to) how 2 siblings can be so different. You come from the same parents, you are raised the exact same, with the same rules and same chores, the same morals, values and beliefs, the same love and the same discipline but no matter how you are shaped and molded as you grow you eventually become the person that only God wants you to be. As I have grown older and a little wiser (I'd like to think) I have arrived at a new point with my relationship with the Lord. I have known Him as my saviour and been a believer since about the age of 10 but as I have matured he has blessed me with so much. Now not only is he my Saviour but I have learned to depend on him for ALL including the ability to understand my many wonders. Now that I am married I realize that not only are siblings so different but that your spouse is as well. When you are a child and growing up the word different is not usually a good adjective but as an adult I now realize that being different from the ones we are closest to is what builds those unbreakable bonds. Those differences are what makes us depend on our loved ones and love them unconditionally. They are what makes us a strong united front. Now that I have two children of my own I see the cycle starting over or continuing as I guess cycles do. Although they have many similarities, my children could never be further from opposite. Caroline is VERY independent, but hates to be alone. She is my little snuggle bunny that never stops talking. She is first in everything especially in attention and never misses a thing and will be the first to whine and complain if things aren't going her way. Carson on the other hand is my sweet little boy. Very laid back and always happy and smiling. He hates to snuggle, he just wants you in his presence but he wants to explore all on his own. Now that he is growing so fast I find myself wanting to hold him back. I remember with Caroline, I couldn't wait for the next milestone. The question was always when? When will she sit? When will she sleep through the night, quit crying all day? When will she learn to crawl, walk and talk? Now with Carson being my last baby that question of when has turn into please don't. This is one of my favorite pictures of him crawling and although I am so proud when he will stand up and take a few steps I am so happy to see him decide crawling is still much quicker and therefore for now the way to go. I wonder will there opposites make them tease one another as my sister and I always did that one of us 'had to have been adopted because there was no way we had the same momma and daddy" And of course the accuser was ALWAYS the one that belonged to the family. But as young children we did have very good reasoning to our decisions of why the other was adopted. "Christi was, because she had brown eyes and my parents both have green, but she always told me I was because I had blonde hair growing up and both my parents and her had brown so that proved that she belonged plus my eyes were blue so they didn't match theirs either" What fun we have to look forward to as the sleep interrupted nights turn into teasing one another. So can I say again, now that I see how fast they really do grow can they just stay just like they are?

The Egg Hunt

Carson finds the prize egg!!

We had a wonderful family Easter. The eggs were dyed at Nonnee's house this year outside on the picnic table. I think this may become a yearly event. The clean up was so much easier and the kids were able to dye their eggs without worrying about the mess or spilling the dye. Then Saturday Brad and I took Caroline and Carson to church for an egg hunt. Caroline really had fun hunting and although Carson was content to sit by a few eggs on the ground and randomly pick them up, he did manage to pick up the prize egg. The morning of Easter started early with the visit from the Easter Bunny who brought new hooded pool towels made especially for the Easter Bunny by PattyCakes Children's Designs. Then we went to church to celebrate the true meaning of the holiday. Now does anyone know exactly how the crucifixion of Jesus to die for our sins and him rising from the grave so that we could be forgiven and spend eternity in Heaven with our Lord got turned into the Easter Bunny? I just wonder about these things sometimes. Anyway my parents, and brother and sister visited church with us and after a wonderful service and message and a packed house, we all came back to our house to meet Nana and have Easter dinner. I always enjoy visiting with family on holidays. And only fitting Easter makes you realize the blessings you have with your family and the blessing the Lord gave us all by sacrificing His Son. For without His sacrifice we would not be blessed with these memories with our families.

We All Scream for Ice Cream

WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM
I remember as a child the joy of hearing the sound of the ice cream truck. The second you could hear the music, everything became a frenzy as you ran inside like the world was coming to an end to find momma or daddy to beg and plead and reason as to why you just had to have some money for ice cream. The rush of hurry quick as if the ice cream man was imaginary and would disappear if you blinked (although when you ran inside you hadn't yet caught a glimpse of his truck only the faintest sound of his music)....
Well now that we live in a neighborhood, we have been able to create this same special memory for my children. It is so funny that what gives you a rush as a child still works after you grow up. The other day although still cool enough outside that most people would not yet be thinking of eating ice cream, we were outside working as a family to get the yard ready for spring and Caroline got to buy an ice cream from the ice cream man. She picked Sponge Bob of course. Being the good big sister that she is she even gave Carson the first bite.

Easter Pictures

Easter

Easter pictures were so fun this year. Carson thought the bunny was the most hilarious thing ever. I don't think I've ever seen him get so tickled
